The First Sign of Bright

A long, long time ago when long hair and motorbiking were their preferred lifestyle choices Vic Kimmel and Joshua Jost met. They had a lot of fun in Hawaii together and then went off to discover other places, meet new people and, it turns out, learn a lot about the world of Information Technology…

So wonderful even Louis Armstrong would clear his throat.

Vic had spotted that computers might come in handy, continued immersing himself in IT and began to turn his interest into his trade. Starting as Tech Support in Virginia at Sycom - which by-the-way grew to be the biggest IT consultancy around. (obviously, cough cough, all down to him). He then moved to the UK with Capital One and ended up doing consultancy right here in London Town. Then in 2003 Vic set up Kimson Solutions, an IT support company, that eventually grew to become a Microsoft Gold Partner.

Now Joshua – that's the other BRIGHT fella, who by his own admission hadn't been that into computers when he met Vic in Hawaii but was inspired by Vic's enthusiasm. This intrigue led him to learn more and more to feed his ever-growing curiosity. Equally interested in Sales and Marketing he continued down that path eventually becoming Wealth Management and Sales Manager at UBS. It was through his genuine interest in problem solving that he found ways of helping his employers make big on small budgets by leveraging technology. When several years later he went for a job in Sales and the interviewer offered him a job in IT – because he knew more than all his tech guys - Joshua felt the start of a new direction.

While Joshua and Vic had drifted apart in the big wide world world; each learning what outsiders might call a 'strange' amount about IT. The two old mates were not in contact. However, using a then new-fangled networking device called Facebook, Joshua (who was now in Aberdeen) poked Vic (in London). You can guess what happened next… kicking his Converse heels along the yellow brick road, Joshua was lured to London where the two old mates from the other side of the pond were once again working together, but now in the small village of London.

The Bright Beginning

After realising that a) not everyone here knew the Queen and, b) they shared an interest in most things technical they set about making the IT world a BRIGHTER place.

There was a lot of late night overexcited IT banter! Having found that IT was historically geeky but useful, Vic and Joshua were on a mission to show people, companies and the world that IT, when it's done right, can really be the Golden Goose.

The lively, charismatic, excitable duo set about making IT easy, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone. It has taken 9 years to shape up and now they have created a tranquil, harmonious working environment where everything works and life is sunny.
